4/5/2017 0 Comments Post 8To begin, this week at robotics things have been kind of fast paced. today and tomorrow we are packing up our materials for the competition and are preparing for our trip to GCU. Our team have been packing up our stuff and to get our robot ready and strip our second robot for materials and upgrade the bagged robot at the competition. we had to spare some items due to the rules stating that we need under 30 pounds of stuff to bring. But we got through that with less than half a pound to spare and we had all the things that we needed. Our only set back is the deconstruction of our second robot and rushing to upgrade our robot at GCU in a short amount of time. Our goal for this competition on Friday and Saturday is to beat our competitors and finish first and to bring a strong victory to our robotics team and for the school.

3/29/2017 0 Comments post 7To begin, this past week of robotics things have been very slow because of the upcoming competition on April. this past weekend our team have been just practicing on the robot and have been making adjustments here and there to perfect the robot for the competition. Our teammates have been chosen to drive and to be on the playing field, and our best driver is Eric and he is the best driver and soul teammate on our team. He is like our secret weapon on our team because he and another skilled driver, Connor, have been driving around and have been doing really well and we hope that we can do well before the competition. For the next week or so we have to pack our equipment and bagged robot and drive over to GCU to put our robot into play. Our last goal for the robot is to put on the finishing touches on our robot and we hope to succeed during the competition and hope to win the competition.
3/8/2017 0 Comments Blog 5this week of robotics have been really slow. The production of the robot is practically done and the only thing we are working on is our driving for the drivers and to be sure everything works. the robot has working nicely and we are still putting it through it paces. our competition is in a couple weeks and we have to prepare for it and I hope that our robot is enough to beat most of the competition. Our goal for spring break is to master driving and use our robot correctly for it and be ready to beat everyone. our team has been working diligently for the past few months and we are somewhat proud of the creation of our robot and we hope that our robot does not mess up and we are confident that our robot will do its best. the only problem is the hurdlers which is too big of a size to put in the balls but we hope to fix that during spring break.
3/1/2017 0 Comments Blog post 4This week in robotics we've had bag night where we had to add the finishing touches to our robot and take a huge plastic sheet and cover it. That night me and Francis worked on adding the holes to put in our bumpers and to make sure the bumpers fit perfectly. We spent about 3-4 hours working on both the first main robot and the second robots bumpers. The rest of our team were adding the finishing touches to enhance our robots ability to do the tasks easier. Our team working on the electronics and shooter to make our robot handle and shoot balls efficiently. Our goal for the next few weeks are to build a replica of our 1st robot and for our drivers to test out the robot and to test our capabilities before the competition. When we finish working on the second robot we hope we have enough training to use for the main competition in April.

1/25/2017 0 Comments Blog Post 2My second post for my passion project and i will talk about our production and progress of our robot. To begin, after 1 week of working for 3 days over the weekend we've have made great progress in the making of our robot. Our team worked together to make a electronic board to be on the robot. My team of 3 spent a couple hours working on the electronics and organized our board to be put onto the robot while the other group did the same. Me and my group after finished building the the frame of the robot and put in the electronic's onto the robot and we've started test driving. While we have part of the 1st robot done I've been starting to make a second robot so we can test out because the reason to build a second robot is to test out everything because the 1st robot is bagged up and tied up for the competition. below is our design for our electronics and will be placed on the robot. My name is Johnny Nguyen and today is my first blog post on me and my teams dream of becoming the winners of this years robotics competition. My passion project will focus on how we will perfect our practice of building the best working robot while learning more about the sport. This project will be worth while to me because our team is loyal to what we do and we never give up and work hard every week to build the best robot in a short amount of time. The strain on our time is great and we work for hours to have our hopes and dreams to come true. Our mentors are spending their time to help us out and past Seton students are coming in to help us and it. My project and the robotics competitions align perfectly and spending the time on working on the thing I love is perfect for me. The Production so far is the team have separated into groups to create separate parts for the robot and I was tasked to make a shooter that was able to shoot balls into a goal. Our design was a one wheel shooter and was compact and powerful enough to be on the robot. In the up and following weeks we will be able to perfect the shooter and will be as accurate as it can be My passion for robotics will make this worth while and i hope to succeed on what me and my team will do.
Below is a design of what our shooter is going to be. |
